STRATEGIC WILDFIRE RISK COLLABORATION

Moody's and Filsinger Energy Partners collaborate on wildfire risk reduction

“No single market solution has combined catastrophe risk science with deep utility regulatory practice—until now. This collaboration gives utilities a rigorous, auditable path from ground-level exposure quantification to mathematical modeling, built to create trust and optimize risk buy-down.”

“FEP prides itself on being an independent organization that has cultivated industry trust as a safety partner with data driven and field validated results. This collaboration provides an opportunity for utilities seeking a novel approach to get the best of both worlds in risk quantification for mitigation optimization.”

Moody's and Filsinger Energy Partners collaborate on wildfire risk reduction

Moody’s and Filsinger Energy Partners (FEP) announced a collaboration to offer a first-of-its kind single market solution: pairing catastrophe risk science with deep, on-the-ground utility practice.

Moody’s is a market leader in high resolution probabilistic loss estimation and scenario analysis using its proprietary Moody’s RMSTM Wildfire HD Model. FEP provides industry-leading wildfire mitigation advisory and monitoring services based on deep utility and operational expertise. Acknowledging that no two utilities are the same, through this collaboration, FEP can tailor Moody’s sophisticated data and modeling techniques to a utility’s specific system standards, operations, policies, and service territory to drive more comprehensive risk assessment.

The collaboration expands both organizations’ capabilities to drive strategic wildfire risk reduction and mitigation optimization by coupling boots on the ground utility expertise with advanced wildfire mathematical modeling.
