Confidential Western Utility: Wildfire Risk Mitigation and Public Safety

FEP was engaged to provide observation and monitoring of a Western Utility’s wildfire risk mitigation and public safety programs. FEP deployed its technical experts including vegetation management and transmission and distribution specialists as well as its risk management and strategic experts to provide services including:

  • Review regulatory reporting, regulatory compliance, as well as public and other stakeholder input to future regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide observation and assessments of:
    • Preparation and implementation of Wildfire Mitigation Plan initiatives
    • Risk assessment and modeling
    • Customer and community outreach
    • Gas operations
    • Public safety
    • Enabling technology
  • Perform field inspections for vegetation management and transmission and distribution operations.
  • Engage with executive leadership (CEO, COO, Chief Safety Officer, Chief Risk Officer) and their respective teams on detailed initiatives to review the current plan, proposed changes to the plan, and implementation of the plan.
